Songoroo is automatically and dynamically adjusting playlist in your Songoroo enabled locations. It is selecting songs from our music database, which received the highest ratings by the customers who are enjoying your hospitality at a given moment. Everything works fully autonomously. No manual intervention is needed either by you or by your customers. Algorithm considers various attributes such as the music preferences of individuals and groups of users, business type, music preference of business owner, selected mood profile, etc.

Songoroo playlist is not just customised for every location but dynamically changes in time following the music taste of people enjoying the hospitality of that particular location at a given time. Therefore, every time you step into a Songoroo enabled busines, you experience different and unique atmosphere, always matching the mood and music taste of people there. That is Songoroo’s Kung Fu, And it is strong!
Songooo algorithm takes into consideration music preferences of those who have Songoroo mobile app installed. Songoroo mobile app is currently our only source of information about the music preference of every individual. We do not collect any kind of data from Internet or social networks.
Yes. Due to various technical and personal data protection reasons, you need to open Songoroo app for at least a few seconds to allow the system to detect you and take your music preferences into consideration. Even though there is no need to have the Songoroo app running all the time during your visit, we would only encourage you to use it as much as you like and check all the old and new features we have prepared for you.
There are complex matrix calculations running in the background, but simplistically seen, every attribute such as song, genre, artist or like/dislike gets its rating. Based on these ratings and their respective values, the songs are added, removed, pushed up or down in the playlist. Beside user preferences, there are other variables taken into consideration, such as music editor rules, business type, business owner preferences, etc.
For the start, fill in your music profile in the Songoroo app. This is how our system learns about what kind of music you like. Then, after crunching and mixing information provided by you with the data from all present users, it puts your favourite songs on the playlist. Still unhappy with the position of your song on the playlist? Shoot your song up to one of the top positions on the playlist by using one of the app features such as the Boost. However, please remember that most probably you won´t be the only one having this brilliant idea ;-).
Songoroo is not a Jukebox. Our goal is, as much as possible, to create a pleasant atmosphere for everyone. Beside that, the business owners have the deciding word in terms of what kind of music is suitable for their own place. Therefore, it can happen that certain songs, artists or even the whole genres are excluded for certain location as they don´t fit to the concept of the business brand or are deemed unsuitable by the business owner.
playlists are recalculated every 30 seconds. It does not mean that everything changes every 30 seconds. The system runs the regular updates in order to make sure the preferences of customers who just entered a Songoroo enabled location are also considered. Similarly for those who just left, their wishes are removed from the algorithm calculations.
